Message from the Board of Trustees on November 26, 2021

When the Province transitioned into Phase 5 of the COVID-19 recovery program on October 4, 2021, the Trustees reviewed the new regulations. They wish to advise the following:

  • For Sunday Church services, proof of double vaccination (POV) will not be required as this is considered an essential activity. However, WBC does encourage all who are eligible to obtain vaccinations.

  • For persons renting and using the Church building where the general public will be present, proof of double vaccination (POV), identification and use of masks will be required. In these cases, social distancing and gathering limit restrictions are lifted. Exceptions to the POV requirement would be programs like the Food Bank and support groups. The Trustees will ensure verification of the POV as per government guidelines. Changes are being made to our Use of Facility policy to reflect the new regulations.

  • Dr. Strang has clarified that in-house business meetings of Church boards, committees and groups will require proof of vaccination and we emphasize that use of masks is still recommended.

Be sure to reserve meeting times, dates and spaces through the Church office.

  • Due to the high contagion rate of the new Delta variant, the current WBC COVID-19 Protocols will remain in place, subject to change depending on regulations and Church leaders’ input.

The Trustees wish to thank everyone for continuing to follow the Protocols, and we are encouraged to experience a continuing increase in the numbers attending Sunday services.
