Rev. Ruth's biography
Rev. Ruth Tonn
B.A., M.Div.
Rev. Ruth Tonn has a BA in Ministry and Leadership from Alberta Bible College. She has taken advanced studies in Children’s Ministry at ACTS Seminary/Trinity Western University. A Master of Divinity graduate of Acadia Divinity College (ADC), Ruth is pursuing a Doctor of Ministry degree from the ADC. She has been Ordained to Christian Ministry through the Canadian Baptists of Atlantic Canada and is a Dominion Life member of the Atlantic Baptist Women.
Rev. Ruth has more than five years’ pastoral ministry experience in the Maritimes as Community Pastor and Associate Pastor in the Truro area. Prior to becoming a pastor, she served as a volunteer Children’s Ministry Leader for more than eight years.
Rev. Ruth has led women’s retreats, Women’s Day of Prayer services, and prayer retreats. She has also provided leadership to an emergency homeless shelter and a Day Shelter for the homeless in Truro. Ruth regularly volunteered in a soup kitchen. She also worked with women escaping Commercial Sexual Exploitation.
For many years, Ruth has served those who are the lost, the least, the lonely, and the last of her community – as a volunteer, a leader, and a pastor. She believes the call of Christ on the local church is to proclaim the gospel of Jesus in word and deed and work towards the shalom of all people.
