The Search Committee is delighted to announce that we have selected a candidate to recommend to the congregation, Rev Ruth Tonn. We have had three conversations with Rev. Tonn via Zoom on March 29, April 20, and May 10. We also completed three positive reference checks in late May.
Rev. Tonn has more than 5 years of pastoral ministry in the Maritimes as Community Pastor and Associate Pastor. Prior to becoming a pastor, she served as a volunteer Children’s Ministry Leader for more than 8 years. A Master of Divinity graduate of Acadia Divinity College, she is Ordained to Christian Ministry through the Canadian Baptists of Atlantic Canada.
A special meeting of the congregation is scheduled for Wednesday, June 29, at 7:00 pm, via Zoom, for the congregation to vote on whether to Call this candidate to Wolfville Baptist Church. (Please see the announcement below.)
Please join us as we prayerfully consider this Call. If you have questions, please contact John Murimboh or Eveline DeSchiffart.

Dear Wolfville Baptist Church members,

At the regular June church members meeting, the notice was given for the following motions:
-
That Wolfville Baptist Church call the candidate who was presented during the morning worship service on 26 June, 2022, as Pastor of Families and Community Outreach effective 1 August, 2022, or soon thereafter.
To approve a Call will require at least 85% of those voting to vote “yes” to extend the Call.
-
That the initial salary of the Pastor of Families and Community Outreach be set at $52, 632 (housing allowance included).
-
That Wolfville Baptist Church agrees to contribute (to a maximum cost of $6,000) to the reasonable costs of transportation of the Pastor of Families and Community Outreach’s household property to Wolfville, Nova Scotia, provided the Pastor of Families and Community Outreach submits at least two estimates prior to incurring any expenses, receives approval, and incurs the expense.
The decision on these three motions will be done on an online Zoom meeting on Wednesday, 29th June, 2022 at the link below. We encourage members to attend that meeting and consider any discussion made. However, recognizing that not everyone will have access to online discussion on that date, a provision is being made for a written vote. Following the church service (and continuing after the lunch) on Sunday, a number of voting slips will be available at the back of the church. If you are unable to participate on Wednesday 29th June, you may opt to vote for each of these motions on Sunday. To do so, you will be required to record that you have voted (but not the intent of your vote – that remains secret!)
Please contact the office for the Zoom link.
