Our Partners In Mission

Jeff and Deann Carter’s latest newsletter is posted on the bulletin board in the narthex with extra copies. Please take a copy and pray for this dynamic young family. Email: jcarter@ebf.org

Prayer Request from Jeff & Deann Carter, our partners in mission: Pray for the incoming student body at the International Baptist Theological Seminary in Prague. Pray also for the staff (including Jeff) as they prepare for the year. Pray that this will be a challenging year as well as a year of unity in our diverse body of brothers and sisters from across so many countries. Pray also for the Carters as they try to resume a normal family schedule that they left in March, when Zachary went into the hospital. Pray that they can enjoy a “normal” fall with good health and adventures together.

India. I know we’ve prayed a lot for India lately, but although things have settled down somewhat, the people still need our prayers. The challenges that they and our partner Associations are facing come from the Hindu groups, who are saying “unless you are ready to become Hindu, you will not be allowed to work or conduct business, and we will continue to attack you.” Hardly an attitude conducive to bridge building, but God’s word warns us to expect opposition in His name, so let’s continue to pray for our brothers and sisters in India, asking the Lord to give them the strength and wisdom they need to keep their faith strong during this time of trial.

Europe / Mediterranean. There’s good news and bad news coming from this part of the world. Jeff Carter is praising God for his time in Israel, giving thanks in particular for God’s leading during his teaching and speaking assignments in Nazareth. However, at the same time, he asks us to pray for the Russian churches that are coming up against a new law that is likely to expel or disband many NGOs (non-government organizations) and evangelical faith groups. Once again I ask you to pray for our brothers and sisters overseas. Pray for perseverance and patience as they wait to see what will transpire.

Indonesia. Johnny and Paige Byrne-Mamahit ask us to pray for Johnny’s health and safety as he travels several times a year to the interior where he is involved with the ministry in the isolated area of Ketapang. Pray also for the four national families who serve in that area. Pray that they will see fruit in their ministry and be encouraged to continue in their work.

These prayer requests are received weekly from Canadian Baptist Ministries. For more information, please visit www.cbmin.org
